'Expansion 1st' is a soothing sound journey that will take you on a meditative ascension as the album progresses!

This is the first Sound Therapy album from producer/artist Matt W Gardiner.

The sequence of the songs tells a story:
'Grounding' starts the album off with a lower whole tone frequency, 174hz, resting in the backdrop of the music.
As you listen, the background whole tone frequencies rise with each song.

Each new frequency, each new song, targets a certain energy center in the body - moving through the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart and third eye chakras until 'Clarity' welcomes a release at the Crown Chakra.

The final 4 songs of the album tell a story of 4 seasons, 4 times of day and the 4 directions.

The production of the album also tells a story:
The first 3 tracks are the more grounded, denser tracks, and as a result were mixed and mastered that way.
By the time you hit the title track 'Expansion 1st' the denser sound gives way to a gentler mix and mastering. 
The final few frequency songs were intentionally mixed with more of a light & airy sound to them.


Ingredients for the album:

Solfeggio Frequency whole tones
Pink noise
Binaural beats
Field recordings of nature
Live-off-the-floor instruments
Royalty-free loops

The mixes were sent through a Tascam tape machine to give that familiar "tape warble" to the mixes, as well as smooth out the high frequencies - adding that famous analog warmth.

The mixes were also sent through the Waves plugin 'Abbey Road Vinyl' to provide those nostalgic pops & clicks that only records can produce.

Between the familiar tape machine and vinyl characteristics, the field recordings of nature settings, the bed of pink noise, the binaural beats and the Solfeggio Frequency whole tones - 'Expansion 1st' has A LOT of comforting layers for the listener to uncover over multiple listens.
